GLISS AWARDS GALLANT STAFF

For the past years, the Ghana-Lebanon Islamic School has been awarding its teachers in order to motivate them to hard work. This year is however no exception. The awards for this year were based on the 2010 Basic Education Certificate Examination since there was no WASSCE this year due to the 4-year SHS programme.

In his opening address, the director of the school, Mr. Hamada Momtaz Gomaa, expressed his gratitude to the teachers for their wonderful performance and hoped that the teachers will not only maintain the standard so far achieved, but will work hard to improve upon their performance.

GLISS CELEBRATES TEN YEARS OF ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

The Ghana Lebanon-Islamic School (GLISS), has held its 10^th anniversary and first speech and prize-giving day in Accra with a call on wealthy Muslims and non-governmental organizations to establish more Islamic Institutions of higher learning.

The Vice President, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, who made the call in a speech read on his behalf  by the Deputy Majority Leader in parliament, Mr. Rashid Pelpuo, said the successes chalked up by recently established institutions of higher learning made that move imperative.
